We had a busy day at the dojo on Sunday!

So much was accomplished through teamwork this weekend! With special permission, we hung a wall mural of the picture of us in front of Suri Castle for Sensei Iha’s Tookachi (87th birthday) celebration in Okinawa. We were honored to apart of such a monumental moment, along with so many of our fellow karateka from around the world.

We also got the heavy bag hung, some pictures, a slatwall, company decals on the front door, and outside planters. Many of our major upgrades are done and the space is looking more and more like our dojo home.

The mirrors are up.

The mirrors look great! Unfortunately, we could only put them on one wall. If they were on both sides then it would create a house of mirrors effect, which is very disorientating. Also, we can’t touch or clean them for 7 days. It takes that long for them to set properly. If they do not set properly the reflections would be distorted.

Makiwaras are installed!

We now have makiwaras in the dojo. A special shout out to Great Lakes Leathercraft, LLC for making the amazing long covers. We also have outside benches. Soon, we will have beautiful planters to compliment them. But first we need to find the right ones. More improvements are coming this weekend. We can’t wait to share them with you!
