Annual Karate Holiday Party
As the cold weather rolled in, we celebrated together the holiday season during our Annual Karate Holiday Party. We had a lot of fun playing our traditional game of “rob your neighbor.” The Nerf battle in the basement was epic! As usually, it was dramatic, fun, and involved some serious strategizing. It is a good thing Sensei has her Emotional Support Nuggets to help her recover from all the excitement. All jokes aside, it was a joyous event with karate family and amazing food! The pile of coats on Sensei’s bed was a fun representation of visiting friends. For those who were unable to attend, please know you were missed. Happy Holidays to all!

Annual Family Karate Picnic
We had a great time at our Annual Family Karate Picnic this year. We had some brief reprieve from the extreme heat when a pop-up shower developed. “Mr. Sensei’s” gourmet hot dog bar was a big hit! We enjoyed the new location a lot, with tennis courts, large pavilion, and close proximity of the playground, parking lot and bathrooms. The quiet location was an added bonus. Thank you to everyone that can. We missed those who could not make it.

Beikoku Shidokan Association Midwest Training Seminar
Members of the dojo participated in the Beikoku Shidokan Association Midwest Training Seminar in Lansing, MI. It was wonderful to be back together as a group! The training was extra adventurous due to the tornado that came the night before. The venue was without power during the morning session. We are tough karateka and adapted quickly to train in the park during a cold light drizzle. Fortunately, the power was restored for the afternoon session, allowing us to train indoors. We missed those who could not make it and were grateful to those who could.
