Yesterday, August 27th, we had our Annual Karate Family Picnic. We were so happy to see everyone having fun. The weather turned out to be perfect! It was a cool 81°F, compared to the 102°F temperatures we were experiencing during the week. Also, a special shout out of thanks to Bebe’s Bake Shoppe in Florissant for the delicious custom cookies; they were a big hit!
The dojo will be closed on Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy your long weekend!
On August 15th, Gateway Shidokan Karate, LLC celebrates our one-year anniversary in our new location! We love having mat floors, mirrors, makiwaras, a heavy bag, a private bathroom, and video conference abilities for long distance training with Iha Sensei and Roberto Sensei. Also, Faulkingham Sensei is thrilled that she no longer needs to carry all items into the building for classes. It is wonderful having everything we need on site!
Thursday, August 17th, 2023 - Due an instructor scheduling conflict, the beginner class, 5-6 pm, will be combined with the 6-7 pm class for this day only.
This past weekend three of Gateway Shidokan Karate, LLC dojo members tested for their next black belt rank in Lansing, MI with Iha Sensei. It is with great pride and joy that we congratulate them on their new black belt ranks: Tony Bui, 5th Dan; Walter Nitsche, 3rd Dan; Meghan Johnston, 2nd Dan! They worked incredibly hard for their promotion. Congratulations to all who tested!
